Multimedia services in the classroom provide access to rich, high-quality educational
content for a large number of users. In this way the social and economic differences between
school children, students and others are reduced. Multimedia services significantly increase
learning efficiency, which helps people to work more effectively and increases the
general level of education. The introduction of multimedia services into the classroom represents
a common interest and is usually organized at the national level.
Users can watch live educational TV channels (National Geographic, Discovery, etc.),
live broadcasts and/or recordings of lectures and workshops, educational video content
for self-teaching, educational movies; they can play educational video games, access
the fast internet, as well as send and receive e-mail messages.
Educational multimedia services are usually used by schools and educational
institutions. Individual users can also be provided with remote access
to multimedia content. The device used for receiving multimedia services is the
personal computer.
